At the beginning of 2012, we at Ugglebo were fortunate enough to meet one of those real heroes of the day organizations – the Pink Ribbon Riders®.

The Pink Ribbon Riders (PRR) provides financial assistance to both men and women diagnosed with breast cancer, through hosting snowmobile and many other events as their fundraisers.

We attended their Minnesota event and were deeply moved by the passion and vigor of the courageous participants, devoted volunteers and loyal sponsors, and we wanted to help too.  

Apart from donating a number of clogs to them every year, we also hope that we can do a lot of good by empowering our customers to help out as well. Therefore, the Chukka Shearling Boot will become our Pink Ribbon Riders’ boot, which essentially means that for every Chukka Shearling Boot that you buy, we will donate $20 to the Pink Ribbon Riders. Children of today face new and even more complex worldly problems than ever – including excessive green house gases and feeding the ever-increasing world population. Solving such issues will require bright minds with problem solving skills and new ways of thinking. As such, it is Ugglebo’s firm belief that ALL children deserve a chance for education.

But – as we all know – poverty, societal and other barriers prevent children worldwide from receiving the education they deserve. It is our steadfast conviction that if you were to ask anyone of these children what they want the most, a majority of them would say that they want to go to school more than anything else. Children want to learn and they should all be given that opportunity.

Ugglebo means “owl’s nest” in Swedish. The owl is a universal symbol for wisdom, and the nest is a symbol of nurturing and growth. We at Ugglebo truly cherish these values and we strive to do our very best to share them with children in need. That's why we at Ugglebo donate 5% of our annual profits to the nurturing, growth and passing of wisdom to disadvantaged children through education. We can’t really think of a name or logo that could mean so much to us as our little owl does.

Children are the future of the world, and Ugglebo will do whatever we can within our means to help shape that future by giving children in need a chance.
