Q: How do I navigate the site? I am overwhelmed with different options.

A:

  1. Select "Women's" or "Men's" under the brand of clog you want from the home page or the right side bars on the secondary pages.
  2. Select the model of clog you like---this takes you to a screen showing the same clog in four (4) different leathers and colors. The clog style is the same but this step gives you a choice of what TYPE OF LEATHER you are seeking.
  3. Make sure you read each product description. For example: Havana in Patent leather colors, Havana in Normal leather colors, Havana in Fun leather patterns and Havana in Nubuc leather colors. Each of these leather types has a distinctive texture and look. Please see our FAQ page to learn more about these differences.  Feel free to look at the color wheels in each of the different leather types.
  4. If you want to get back to the screen showing you all of the pictures you have two options: Click the Ugglebo logo or home button to go to the home page then select "women's" or "men's" under the brand you want or select "women's" or "men's" under the brand you want at the top portion of the shopping cart.
  5. JUST REMEMBER IF YOU CLICK THE LOGO IT WILL GET YOU BACK TO THE BEGINNING QUICKLY. YOU SHOULD THEN BE ABLE TO GET TO THE STYLE YOU WANT WITH JUST A COUPLE OF CLICKS.
  6. If you are still having problems please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q: How long does shipping take?

A: Please see our shipping page.

Q: How can I pay?

A: We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. You can also mail us a check and we will fill your order as soon as funds are verified.

Q: What are the heel heights?

A: The wood low heel (as seen on many of the Ugglebo Classic styles) is 1 ¾ inches (4.5cm) the wood medium base ( as seen on many of the Ugglebo Q clogs styles) is 2 5/8 inches (6.5cm) the Sandgrens comfort bases are 2 inches (5cm).

Q: How do I know what size to wear?

A:Click here to see our US to European (metric) size conversion chart.

Q: I have looked at the size conversion chart but I remain a little concerned about what size I should order. Is there any other way to make sure I order the right size?

A: Yes, simply trace your foot onto a white piece of paper and fax it to 612.454.2564. You can also include some writing like “I am normally a size 8 women’s.” We will then verify your actual foot to the proper clog base which should guarantee a perfect fit!

Q: Is my credit card information safe?

A: Absolutely, we have undergone US Banks affiliated online web store security program.

Q: What is nubuc leather?

A: Nubuc leather is snuffed suede that is oiled. The oiling process is what gives nubuc its distinctive look and feel. Similar to suede, nubuc has a slight nap.

Q: What is patent leather?

A: Patent leather can be easily recognized by its phenomenal shine. Patent leather comes in many different colors and is made by simply giving leather a high gloss finish. To clean patent leather clogs simply use a damp cloth with or without soap.

Q: What is "traditional" leather?

A: Traditional leather is leather with a thin foil baked on the upper surface. It protects the leather and makes it easy to clean and care for. "Traditional" leather comes in a myriad of colors and lasts a very long time. Additionally, Traditional leather prevents moisture from coming in while continuing to allow your feet to breath properly.

Q: What is suede?

A: Suede is leather with a napped finish.

Q: What is Vegetable tanned leather?

A: Vegetable tanned leather is made in a natural process which uses tree bark during tanning and doesn't contain any chrome. Vegetable tanned leather has a distinctive texture and feel that leaves it highly desirable for high fashion designs.

Q: Why Wood?

A: Style and feel wood feels better because it absorbs moisture from your feet while providing superior support for your foot-arch, knees and back. Our wood and soft-bases last a very long time, so a lot of the decision on what kind of base to choose is dependent on personal style preferences. One thing to also note is that with a wood base you are remaining as environmentally friendly as any product on the market. Additionally, if you are seeking a high-fashion look you will probably like wood best.

Q: Why should I buy a clog with a soft base?

A: We have found that our soft-base works very well for those do a lot of standing or walking. Our Sandgrens clogs have a soft base and a great insole for extra comfort.

Q: What is the difference between natural and light brown base color?

A: The difference is very subtle. The light brown stain is very light but noticeable. Stain does help seal the base from moisture but isn’t required to make sure your clogs last.

Q: What is the difference between Ugglebo Brand clogs and other clogs?

A: The quality of our workmanship is what sets apart from other clogs.  We have hand crafted our clogs IN SWEDEN for 45 years.  We take pride in hand crafting all of our products in the same Swedish factory that our founder built starting 45 years ago.  We don’t contract our assembly out to the cheapest manufacturer in China or Latin America hoping the clogs turn out ok.  We also have a superior quality assurance program that allows our customers to ensure when they order a size it will fit.  You will not have to try on or return 10 different pairs until you find one that fits.

Q: Are all clog brands alike?

A: No way! Although they may look similar from a distance, you will find that workmanship and quality of materials distinctly separate each brand. We take several extra steps to ensure the highest quality product on the market. You will also find many design differences as you browse through different styles and clog brands.

Q: Will I have to try on a few pairs of the same size to get a pair that fits right?

A: On occasion your clog may not fit "just right" because each pair is handmade. If you aren't absolutely satisfied with how they fit we will get a pair rushed directly to your door.

Q: My clogs feel too big and/or my feet hurt. Can I send them back?

A: Clogs are designed to allow your heel to "slip" when you walk, even if you have a closed back clog. It generally takes a couple of weeks to get used to your new clogs. We always recommend wearing them for no more than a couple of hours a day for the first week and a half day for the next week. If you have been wearing shoes or clogs that are old and worn your body will need to re-adjust to its proper posture. Once you have re-adjusted you will no-doubt feel better than your life before clogs. Give your clogs some time. Don’t expect your knees and back to feel better after three days. It generally took a lot longer than three days for your knees and/or back to become agitated so it will take some time to heal.

Q: Do you make any soft bottom (non wood) clogs?

A: Yes, we offer soft bottom clogs (Sandgrens). Our Sandgrens clogs have a cushion sole as well as a cushion insole. Sandgrens are VERY comfy and are perfect for working professionals.

Q: Are the sizes always the same?

A: Our quality assurance process is very strict. However, if you typically wear a certain size shoe it doesn't always mean that you will wear the same size in a clog. Clogs are designed for a snug fit which is why they are so comfortable. If you are in-between sizes we generally recommend rounding up.

Q: Why is there a hole in the wood?

A: Each pair of clogs is handmade. In order to get the proper shape the leather is steamed and a foot-shaper (Last) is put in. A nail is used to hold the last while it is then put in an oven for drying. The nailing of the last to the wood is a clear sign of each clog being handmade and is a tradition dating back for centuries.

Q: How should I care for my clogs?

A: We use high quality leathers and bases so you generally shouldn't have to do anything but you can find many leather protection products on the internet or in any retail shoe/clog location.

Q: Is there a warranty?

A: Absolutely! If for any reason your clog has a manufacturing defect we will replace it. Please keep in mind that if we can see that the clogs have been worn for three years on a daily basis and someone simply wants a new clog for free we may have to question them a bit further. If you have a legitimate complaint, rest assured your clog(s) will be replaced no-questions-asked. Our mission is to keep you happy!

Q: What is the difference between Ugglebo or Sandgrens and Dansko?

A: Coincidentally, Dansko got their start selling clogs the same way Sara and I did… an American met a Scandinavian, traveled to Scandinavia, saw a few pairs of clogs and fell in love… with both!

It wasn't difficult for either clog team to recognize that other people would love them just as much as we do (I am talking about the clogs of course!) In fact, many clog companies in America got their start during the 1970s exactly the same way that both of us did. However, nearly none have stood the test of time like Ugglebo and Sandgrens Clogs.

An important major difference is that we continue to make our products in Sweden. We don't find the cheapest bidder in China, Brazil, or Poland to make our products. We demand the highest quality standards that exist. The only place to find someone who can meet these standards is in Scandinavia.  Last-but-not-least, the most important difference is marketing! Ugglebo has had a strong following of clog-wearers of all types but until recently we have not marketed beyond those customers.  Recently we decided to simply share with the rest of the world what our clients already know, that is, if you see the owl you can rest assured of absolute quality and comfort!  The owl is back!

THE BOTTOM LINE: If you are on your feet all day there is no doubt that you should be wearing clogs. The only question is whose clogs you should buy… we have no doubt that it should be ours. Let us know if there is anything we can do to convince you.
